If you aspire to be an airline pilot, you are going to need a class one medical

I recommend you start with your medical first, because if you can’t pass the medical, you won’t be able to become an airline pilot…so investing in flight training would be a waste of money. 

Of course, if your goals are something other than airline pilot, there are other options for your medical. 

The very best way to figure out how to become a pilot, what it cost, what flight school to use, etc…is to talk to other pilots. Either make a trip down to the local airport…or reach out to them on social media. Pilots like myself who are posting content online are usually pretty happy to answer questions. 

Just be sure to be respectful of their time. 

When it comes to flight schools; all are not created equal.

Flight school come in two basic flavors; part 61 and part 141

I attended a part 61 school because it was faster and less expensive than a part 141 school.
